Investor pitch deck using a SlideDoc format. It is intended to be read and not presented. The tone needed to represent the "sci-fi" scientist persona sought by the investment fund, it also needed to include technical details. Above all that, it had to make a rational case for the 7 years of hard work prior to the request for funding.

Two types of Decks for the same company
I’ve found it useful to have two different pitch decks, depending on the amount and type of questions from a first conversation with a prospective investor.Â
Instead of rushing, internal interviews were used to gather content. The two key questions: 1. why should this audience care?, and 2. how does this increase our valuation?
SlideDoc Pitch Deck
This intentionally has some spice. Bold statements, language, large analogies, and aspirational comparisons to highly successful companies. It also hopes to inspire curiosity about normally dry stuff like materials science. The founders of the company wanted to dig deeper to swing big. Much of the content has become ‘evergreen’ for a variety of uses.
